Samyang V-AF 75mm T1.9 FE Lens
Overview: The Samyang V-AF 75mm T1.9 FE lens is part of Samyang's V-AF (Video Auto Focus) series, designed specifically for video production. This lens is tailored for filmmakers and videographers seeking smooth autofocus performance combined with high optical quality. It is compatible with Sony E-mount full-frame and APS-C cameras and is ideal for both video shooting and still photography. Its T1.9 maximum aperture provides excellent control over depth of field, making it a great choice for portrait, documentary, and cinematic video work.
Key Features:
-
Fast T1.9 Aperture: The T1.9 aperture enables exceptional low-light performance and gives videographers and photographers the ability to create shallow depth of field effects, enhancing subject isolation and background bokeh.
-
Compact & Lightweight: Weighing only 280 grams (0.62 lbs), the V-AF 75mm T1.9 is ultra-light and compact, making it easy to handle during handheld or gimbal-mounted shooting. It also maintains balance on small mirrorless cameras, adding to the convenience for mobile filmmaking.
-
Designed for Video Autofocus (V-AF): The lens is optimized for fast, quiet, and smooth autofocus, ensuring continuous focus tracking even during dynamic scenes. Its autofocus motor is designed to minimize noise, which is essential for professional video productions where audio quality is critical.
-
Cinematic Optical Design: The lens features 9 elements in 8 groups, including aspherical and high refractive elements, to ensure excellent image sharpness, accurate color reproduction, and minimal chromatic aberrations. This makes it ideal for high-resolution video capture and cinematic work.
-
Integrated Tally Lamp: A unique feature of this lens is the integrated tally lamp on the front of the lens barrel, which lights up during recording. This helps both the operator and the talent to easily see when the camera is recording, a great feature for video creators.
-
Unified Design Across V-AF Series: The V-AF series lenses have a uniform size, making them easy to use with accessories like follow focus systems, gimbals, or drones without needing readjustments for different lens sizes. All lenses in this series share a 58mm filter thread, adding to the convenience when switching between lenses.
-
Versatile Focal Length: The 75mm focal length is perfect for portrait photography and tight close-ups in video work, providing a flattering perspective with minimal distortion. On APS-C cameras, the focal length provides an equivalent of around 112mm, further enhancing its telephoto reach.
